Sadness Hardship Tree

The kanji here translates to "sorrowful wood," a lovely transposition of the melancholic effects of achewood upon the nervous system. For those uninitiated in achewood lore, it is an analog of wormwood, whose wicked oil imbues absinthe with its maddening properties. Beware the barman who offers you an icy cordial of achewater.
